Levity

This painting includes so many of my favourite things. My favourite colour is red, I love hearts and balloons, and octopuses are my favourite animal. This one includes the tentacle of the very real giant pacific red octopus.

Not only is this painting a fun one with all things red and shiny, but it also expresses a bigger message that I like to include in most of my art of loving and better co-existing with the ocean creatures that we share this life with.

This painting was an idea in my head for a long time, but was finally created for the “Bliss” show at Northern Contemporary Gallery in Toronto, Aug 2024. I hope that it puts a smile on people’s faces, especially those who find bliss (like me) in a fun balloon!
